Ottawa County Flood Recovery Continues

Red Cross Plans Mobile Distribution Route for Ottawa County

As the flood water begins to recede in West Michigan, the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office of Emergency Management shifts its efforts toward recovery.  To assist, the American Red Cross is distributing clean-up kits. Kits include mops, scrub brushes, shovels, and cleaning chemicals along with other items to help people once they are able to return to their homes.  In Ottawa County, the kits will be available from American Red Cross vehicles on the following dates and times:

9:30 a.m.  – 11:00 a.m. Tallmadge Township; O-1451 Leonard St.; Grand Rapids  
11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Crockery Township Hall; 17431 112th Ave.; Nunica
1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Robinson Township Hall; 12010 120th Ave.; Grand Haven
3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Georgetown Fire Station; 1415 44th St.; Jenison

Friday, April 26, 2013
9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Polkton Township Hall; 6900 Arthur St. W; Coopersville
12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Grand Haven Fire Station/Township Hall; 13250 168th Ave.; Grand Haven
2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. American Red Cross of Ottawa County; 270 James St.; Holland

Homeowners who have property damage are asked to report the it to their local township or city office.  The County will collect this information to compile a collective damage report.  Pictures of flooding and flood prevention efforts can be submitted via the flood information page at miOttawa.org.  Important flooding updates will continue at miOttawa.org.
